I think it depends. Supposedly there are going to be choices that you make in quests and missions that determine the path you take in the story. That being the case, I think it's possible you could take an 'evil' path that leads to your hero fighting on the side of the 6th god. In which case, the Dervish very well may be able to take on that form.
Talk about a twist! Your own character becomming the 'bad guy'!

Depends again. We still don't really know if she's evil, or just 'playing' evil. Maybe that's part of it. If we choose the evil path, she turns out to be a 'spy' for the good guys, we get to fight her. If we choose the good path, she remains evil, we get to fight her.
Sounds cool to me, unless I'm right, in which case I've ruined it for myself.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

If you do become evil, you would probably become power hungry and kill Varesh.

Varesh, being the main villain, would obviously be the final boss or second to last boss if abaddon was summoned. It would only make sense for varesh to have a kick-ass monster skill, the avatar of abaddon fits it perfectly. it would be the closest thing to actually fighting abaddon (and not getting ur ass kicked in 2 seconds) that you could get to.

A fall from grace requires lengthy exposition. Anakin didn't just wake up one day and say, "damn, the dark side be da shiznitz, screw dese hippy bathrobes I'm getting me a shiny helmet!"
So far there is nothing in the story that really motivates Varesh's evilness. We barely even know who she is in game at the point where the Great Plot Twist is revealed. The pacing is all off, is what I'm saying. Give us a reason to be surprised at her allegiance!

imo i think avatar of abaddon would spoil nightfall for newbies but it does sound cool :P
Avatar Of Abaddon
For 60 seconds your attacks do shadow damage and you steal 5-15 health every time you attack. AVATAR OF ABADDON FTW!

Lol wtf?
I never said anything about players being able to cap and use it!
I always stated it as a monster-only skill.

I hate to be the one to point out the obvious-
But, hey, I'm about to point out the obvious, so-
The story for Prophecies, while fun, wasn't exactly original material. If anyone posting here had any play during the beta, it kind of felt like it was a hodge-podge of a bunch of cliche ideas thrown together.
Not bad, no. But it certainly didn't wow me at any point.
As for Factions, I was a bit confused by its story direction. So, we have a villain who's a villain because he.. SPOILERS AHEAD
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.. killed the emperor because the emperor was going to kill him because he was too powerful, and now he's angry because he died because he killed the emperor--so he's going to throw the universe out of alignment?
A real bang-up job as casting him as the reluctant villain, Anet.
It had a real great start, but.. once you realized both his motivations and the emperor's motivations, it became a kind of "DUR" story.
Nightfall, so far, has been real entertaining. Here's hoping the folks at Anet don't bungle the story again. ;P

seems to me like the nightfall story could be very cliche. a basic, cult trying to release a great evil force that could destroy the world and to stop it all the good forces on earth join forces to fight in what seems to be an "end all" fight, kind of thing.
but i like that kind of thing so its ok by me.

No one else thinks we'll be fighting Abbadon at the end of the game? I mean Abbadon is trapped in the Realm of Torment, and we'll be traveling there... So why else besides to slay Abbadon would we be going? Good food, attractive women, and the ever so lovely weather?

i think that varesh will be our end boss because you can't defeat god himself.
not the one that other 5 gods failed to defeat. you can't... unless you do some kind of weakening ritual or something. and i doubt we will be able to cap avatar because its going to be something like:
Avatar Of Abaddon
For 60 seconds you wtfpwn everything.

You’re probably right about never really defeating him, but you could be able to seal up is prison realm again (with him in it). The other thing you have to take account of is the other five gods; I know in the end they will probably get involved, making sure one of their worlds is not the wakening of their greatest enemy. However there is a chance of going up against him at the end.
